Giant Turtle Rescued at Baranagar of Kolkata Today

Webdesk, TNI Kolkata, 25th March, 2017: A big turtle was today rescued at Baranagar Kutighat of Kolkata today. The huge turtle weighed around 50 kgs. The turtle came in the nets of the fishermen when they went for fishing at the River Hooghly flowing through the Kuti Ghat.
Soon as the news spread, people rushed to the spot to get a glimpse of the giant turtle in the ghat floor. The forest department is called immediately the locals of the area and later when the personnel arrived the turtle was handed over to them. According to the locals, this is a big catch by the fishermen after many years in the area.
